A medical payment, household expense, family commitment or temporary income interruption can disrupt a monthly budget. Before considering a personal loan, confirm the amount remaining after using available savings and exploring other appropriate payment arrangements.
Compare the proposed instalment with your housing costs, utilities, food, transport, insurance and existing repayments. Use your normal reliable income rather than a month containing overtime, a bonus or another temporary increase in earnings.
You may use Credit 21’s personal loan calculator for an initial repayment estimate. Its result is intended for planning and does not represent a guaranteed interest rate, loan amount or approval decision. Every application remains subject to assessment and repayment ability.
You may begin by submitting an online loan application. Credit 21 may request identification, income records, employment details, bank statements or other supporting documents needed to assess your circumstances.
The borrowing process cannot be completed entirely online. Face-to-face identity verification must take place at Credit 21’s registered office before a loan can be granted. The proposed terms must also be explained before the contract is signed.
Review the interest rate, applicable fees, repayment schedule, late-payment consequences and total amount repayable. Make sure the agreement is explained in language you understand. Do not sign a blank or incomplete document, and obtain a copy of the completed contract.
For eligible unsecured loans other than business loans disbursed on or after 15 September 2026, a three-business-day cooling-off period applies. Credit 21’s guide to the moneylender loan cooling-off period explains the coverage, deadline and cancellation process.
A monthly budget may appear sufficient when income and expenses are compared only as totals. However, several payments can fall within the same week, including utilities, insurance, childcare costs, existing instalments and household contributions.
A practical Yew Tee borrower tip is to place each regular payment and the proposed loan instalment on a monthly calendar. Compare the due dates with your salary dates and expected account balance. If several commitments are clustered together, keep an adequate buffer rather than assuming income received later in the month will cover an earlier payment. This can reveal cash-flow pressure that may not be obvious from monthly totals alone.
